Plaid integration
How Finpal uses Plaid
Finpal is a personal budgeting app. If you choose to link a bank account, that connection is established through Plaid, a third-party service that specializes in secure financial data connectivity.
We do not see your bank username or password. You sign in directly with your financial institution through Plaid’s interface. Finpal receives only the data Plaid makes available to us for the features you use.
Plaid products we use
We use Plaid’s Transactions product so Finpal can:
- Display recent transactions in your budget and calendars
- Match receipts to the correct spending activity where you use that feature
- Power spending summaries and AI-assisted insights based on your linked data
Data handling
Transaction and account metadata needed to run the app are stored in our backend database (hosted on Supabase) and associated with your Finpal account. We use this information only to provide the service to you. We do not sell your financial data. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.
Your control
You can disconnect bank linking from within the app where supported, or revoke Finpal’s access through your bank or Plaid’s consumer tools. Plaid explains options for end users in their consumer disclosures.
